Your programme information file before enrolment

Your programme information file before enrolment

Organise the course description, assessment rules, fees and certificate details in one file before making your enrolment decision.

A programme page introduces an opportunity, but your enrolment decision needs a complete set of current information. Building a small information file makes it easier to ask precise questions and compare what you are offered. It also gives you a record of the details available when you decided to join.

Collect the academic essentials

Save the programme title, syllabus, expected learning outcomes, duration and language. Add the entry requirements and the assessment format. If teaching includes live sessions, clarify the time zone and attendance expectations. If material is self-paced, ask how long access lasts and how questions are handled.

Record the certificate and agreement

Write the full name of the certificate issuer and the exact award title. Keep any programme-specific approval evidence alongside them. Save the total fee information, payment schedule and applicable withdrawal or refund terms. Where professional recognition is required, verify it with the professional body instead of inferring it from the course name.

Resolve inconsistencies before committing

Compare the website, email reply and enrolment agreement. Highlight any difference in dates, fees or award wording and ask for clarification. Do not fill a blank with an assumption. A concise file with version dates helps both the learner and admissions team work from the same information.

Create a compact decision file

Divide your file into four parts: what you will learn, how teaching and assessment work, what you will pay and what you receive on completion. Attach the document answering each part, its receipt date and a short list of unresolved points. Ask for written confirmation of important information discussed by telephone. Where a training partner is involved, retain its role, the organisation receiving payment and the certificate issuer. Displaying several logos together does not provide that contractual detail.

Test the file against a realistic situation

Ask yourself where you would find deferral or withdrawal terms if your work schedule changed after a month. Check whether alternatives are explained if you cannot attend a live session. If you need a certificate for a particular organisation, identify the evidence you have about its acceptance. A missing answer does not automatically make a programme unsuitable, but it identifies a question to resolve before enrolment. The aim is a usable decision record, rather than a large collection of documents you cannot navigate.
