1. What cookies do
Cookies are small values saved by a website in your browser and sent back on later visits. Similar storage technologies can serve comparable purposes. This policy covers the public college website; a student portal or external service may use different storage for its own functions.
2. The language preference cookie
Name: site_locale. Provider: this website. Value: ar or en. Purpose: remember the language you are viewing so that a later visit to the main website address opens in that language. Duration: up to 365 days, renewed when the website sets the preference again.
The cookie applies to this website and is set when a language page is loaded or the language switch is used. It contains a language code, rather than your name or email address. It is not used to build an advertising profile.
3. Article views and optional tracking
The website counts article views through a request to its own service without setting an analytics cookie. As with other web requests, the service receives connection information used to operate and protect the site. The public website does not currently include an advertising pixel or a third-party analytics tracker.
If optional tracking or other storage requiring consent is introduced, we will explain its purpose and providers and obtain the required choice before activating it. Closing this policy, browsing a page or sending an enquiry is not consent to optional advertising tracking.
4. External services
Social media, WhatsApp, verification registers and linked training platforms operate their own websites. Opening a link takes you to the relevant provider, whose cookie and privacy rules apply there. Content loaded directly from an external provider, including an embedded video where present, may also send that provider technical information; its notice explains the resulting use.
5. Managing your preference
You can inspect, block or delete site_locale using your browser’s site-data or privacy settings. If you delete it, visiting another language page may create it again. If you block it, you can still select Arabic or English through the language links; the website may no longer remember that choice on a later visit to the main address.
